Miriam was wonderful! She worked closely with us to develop a ceremony that fit our needs, and that both of our families could feel connected to.
She gave us many examples of different types of ceremonies, so we were able to choose the aspects that resonated with us, and through those, put our own ceremony together. Miriam took the time to get to know us as a couple, and as individuals, her care and attention to detail made our wedding exactly what we both had hoped for. Her knowledge of different traditions, and reverence for all that is sacred helped make our wedding a beautiful spiritual experience, not just for us, but for our family and our guests.

From the moment we decided to contact Miriam, she was very helpful to us with much knowledge of both our religions (Jewish and Christian). She was open and available to questions and ideas we had for the ceremony that included traditions from both religions. The unity sand was an amazing suggestion. After meeting with Miriam, we felt that we couldn't have picked a better person to officiate on our special day. She was able to adjust the wedding service a week ahead of time adding family members and suggesting Bible passages that would be acceptable to both families. Just days before the wedding, I asked Miriam if my father could participate and she fit him in. The cooperation she showed was very natural.
After the ceremony everyone came to us and told us how the ceremony was unique, different and special. That is exactly what we asked Miriam for and that is what we she gave us.
We are very grateful.

I am writing to say "thank you very much" to Interfaith Officiants, specifically Miriam McCarty, for the outstanding job she did officiating our marriage. Miriam really stepped up to the plate when we asked her to create a ceremony that would honor both my Christian and my husband's Jewish faiths. She did this beautifully, intertwining both, resulting in a ceremony that moved everyone present. Further, I want to express my gratitude for her patience as we went through many iterations. The end result was worth all the hard work.
Thanks, once again.

"We spent countless hours trying to find an officiant for our wedding. Since we have diverse theological backgrounds (Jewish and Southern Baptist) we had complications in finding the proper individual to marry us. It was more important to us to focus on the Jewish traditions while making the ceremony as inclusive as possible. Miriam took the time to ensure that the ceremony that we drafted was uniquely ours. She provided the framework and worked with us until we were all comfortable with the language and spiritual aspects of our ceremony. After the wedding we had more compliments about our ceremony than any other event of the weekend. We are truly grateful to have found Miriam to create the perfect wedding ceremony."
